Wheel-Building
Wheel-building is the speciality of ours, Paul Hewitt has over 30 years of wheel-building experience and over the years he has proven himself as one of the finest wheel-builders in the world.
We can build wheels for Road Racing, Touring, Mountain Bike, Tandems and BMX, we can also build wheels for electric bikes, recumbents, trikes, and pedals, and are always happy to consider any special requests.
Once we have established which discipline you require wheels for, we can discuss further any requirements, ie. Suitable for rider weight, specifics such as terrain you are likely to encounter, environment etc.
Here we can decide which hubs and rims are suitable and compatible with your bike, we can help, recommend certain brands or designs, and advise on spoke count, lacing pattern and types of spokes used and the tensioning to obtain the optimum wheelset and characteristics you have chosen.
We generally use DT Swiss spokes and nipples due to their high quality, unless otherwise stated. We use brass nipples exclusively due to their anti-corrosive properties.
Alongside performance, we also emphasise reliability and serviceability, which offsets trouble-free running and keeps it simple when it's time for servicing.
In the 30 years Paul has been applying his craft he has built wheels for National, World and Olympic champions, and trans-continental tourists and catered for many professionals and thousands of cyclists the world over.

Wheel Repairs
We offer services for all wheelsets, including factory-built wheels. We have a comprehensive range of spokes for most factory-built wheels in stock, and also have access to spokes for most brands of factory-built wheels.

Unfortunately, due to the nature of the factory-built wheels, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to repair every factory-built wheel as many of the spokes required are specific to each individual wheel, but our track record is good.
