Frame made in March 2018 (after a 9 month order window) and number 35 out of a limited production run of placed orders. Size 49 inch, with engraved Tomassini 10 cm stem.
Only 3 of these frames were ordered in the UK via Comtat in Portsmouth the sole Tomassini importer at the time. As part of this limited run Toamassini painted the frame made from Columbus SL tubing in a special velocromato blue, including part forks, with a metal head-badge, unique lug design and the chrome finishing was also applied to the seat lug, each frame numbered.
Tomassini engraved Cinelli 1A stem with Cinelli Giro Italia 40 cm bars with white perforated leather bar tape.
‘New old stock’ components were sourced worldwide to complete the build so in-keeping with a bit of history – Full Campagnolo Chorus carbon groupset from 2007/8 (with the quick-shift function, sourced from Spain), this enabled the bike to remain with silver finished brakes and gears complementing the chrome on the frame.
Campagnolo Eurus wheelset from 2007 NOS - these are same spec as the Shamals, but with aluminium hubs, and selected to keep the silver theme with rims and spokes matching. Chainset 39/53, 170 cranks. Upgraded for Record 12-25 block with Record chain.
Additional parts include:
Campagnolo Record headset, Selle Italia Flite blue saddle circa 2007/8, perforated white leather bar tape. The seat post is Campagnolo Chorus carbon, NOS 2007, which was imported from the USA and actually more expensive than the Record version the seller had available due to its rarity (Chorus version had more chrome finishing on the top clamp). Challenge criterium 320tpi tan wall tyres, plus 2 spare tyres of same.
The complete bike cost circa £4,000.
